Reflections

As today comes to an end I am reflecting on what I think was a pretty good week.

On Monday, relaxation was the name of the game. After sending Madeleine off to school Audrey and I spent the day just enjoying each other's company.

On Tuesday we went to the Children's Museum where Audrey entered an imaginary world where she could drive a State Patrol Car,deliver packages in a UPS Truck, fight fires and drive a fire truck. She healed animals in a veterinary clinic, took pretend 911 calls at a police station, went grocery shopping where she could put whatever she wanted in her own grocery cart. She pretended to be a prairie dog and poked her head up out of a prairie dog hole.
However, her favorite part by far was splashing around in this boat filled with water and great toys:
On Wednesday we went to the park. It was the happening place to be that day. A MOPs group was there as well as some children from a nearby daycare. Audrey met and played with several children her age and I even met and talked with some moms in the MOPs group. The highlight was a hot-air balloon that floated above the park; I wish I had my camera with me that day.

On Thursday we enjoyed a surprise and very welcomed visit from our friends Hilary and Anara. I woke up tired and crabby that day, not sure what we were going to do since the van was running on fumes and payday was a day away. I enjoyed some adult conversation over coffee and donuts, while Audrey and Anara played.

On Friday, Audrey and I walked to Madeleine's school to have lunch with her. It was a real treat to see where she eats her lunch everyday and see her interact with her friends. It also warmed my heart to hear little girls asking "Madeleine, will you sit by me"? Then Madeleine replied by saying, "Today I want to sit by my mommy".

Saturday was my favorite day by far. After Madeleine's dance class, we (the whole family) went to a nearby park/lake. We let the girls play at the park for a long time before taking a walk around the lake. The weather was beautiful and I enjoyed being in the presence of my girls and hubby. :) Here are some of my favorite pictures from that outing: I hope all of you had a wonderful week and here's to the start of a new one! :)

You did have a great week. Holmes Lake looks beautiful in the photos-so blue. Just heard from Jenny that she is still planning to come so we will have to plan some fun stuff. I hope the weather will hold out a little longer for her. I love seeing the photos and hearing all about your adventures. You are such a cool mom!
Love you!

Ditto to the cool mom comment from Grammy :) I had a great time hanging out with you on Thursday, I sure needed a friend that day, thanks for listening to my rambling. I LOVE the picture of the girls looking at the water.
