Audrey's Story

For those of you who may not know our family's story, our daughter Audrey was born 3 months early after a difficult pregnancy. I started having complications early on and made more trips to the emergency room than I can count, expecting to hear the words, "I'm so sorry" every time. When I was 24 weeks along I woke up to a gush of fluid only to find out that it was blood. Upon arriving at the hospital I was given an ultrasound at which point we discovered that my water had broke. After hearing those words, I was convinced that I would be delivering a still born baby. Instead, I was rushed by ambulance to a more specialized hospital where I was kept on bed rest until Audrey's delivery 3 weeks later.

First and foremost I believe that Audrey is a miracle and that she is alive because God has a purpose for her life.  He gifted the doctors and nurses who cared for her and answered the prayers of everyone who stormed the gates of heaven on her behalf.  We are so thankful for the phenomenal care she received during her 8 week stay at the hospital that we want to show our gratitude by sharing our testimony of God's faithfulness and by supporting the mission of the March of Dimes. Every year we participate in the March for Babies and the money we raise supports programs in our community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies and it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten babies.  We long for a day when all babies are born healthy, but if they are not, we want them to have a fighting chance and a miraculous outcome like Audrey.

Below is a slideshow of pictures chronicling Audrey's growth, from her perilous start to where she is  today; an ornery, inquisitive, passionate, and affectionate 6 year old.
