Heavenly!

The sun came out yesterday, but in the most dramatic way. When I woke up in the morning it was cloudy and dismal, just as it had been for the past 9 days (but who's counting). However, after waking up from a brief nap at 2:30 in the afternoon, the sun was shining in all its glory! It was amazing!! I could feel a heaviness lift from my shoulders as I opened the windows. After picking up Madeleine from school, we rushed to the park where many others were as well. We stayed there for hours and it was GLORIOUS!

This is what I envision heaven looking like

Isn't it lovely? Madeleine was just as excited to see the sun as I was. When I told her that we were going to the park, she dramatically described it as a place "where the water is wishing (her poetic interpretation of what water sounds like) and the ducks are quacking. It is so beautiful"! Apparently she developed my flare for cheesiness. The girls played on the playground for an hour before we took a walk around the lake.

In this picture Audrey is having a moment. I am still unclear as to why she was unhappy, but I thought she looked pretty cute sitting alone in despair (I am such a fabulous mother, I know).
In the following pictures I played around with some photo editing techniques. I still have a lot to learn.
I love this picture because you can see the clouds' reflection in the water

We stayed at the park so long that I called Steven and had him meet us there after work. He scooped Audrey up after she got "too close" to the side of the bridge. He has a fear of heights.
Today we are enjoying more of the same great weather, but rumor has it that tomorrow it's going to snow with a high of 38 degrees. I am not even going to think about it. Instead, I will take the girls to the park again and enjoy it while it lasts!
