Madeleine's "First" Day of Dance

Those of you who have been following my blog may recall a post that I wrote in January (Madeleine starts taking piano lessons). In that post I write about our decision to take Madeleine out of dance lessons. It was a decision that I soon regretted. Even though I asked Madeleine repeatedly if she wanted to continue going and she consistently said no, as soon as we discontinued the lessons she promptly started begging to go again. This really tugged at my heart strings because I felt like I encouraged her to quit. I told myself if she continued to talk about dance lessons that we would try again. For the past 6 months she has been twirling around the house and talking about dance so we found a different studio and are giving it another shot. Here she is modeling her new leotard.

I was so proud of her this afternoon. She listened to her teacher, Melissa, just like we talked about and she had a BLAST! I think taking a 6 month break and switching dance studios helped. I am confident that she will stick with it this time around. I am excited to see what kind of fun the next class will bring. For the next 3 weeks she will be going twice a week. On Thursday she is supposed to bring a doll (see January's post). Hopefully there will be no throwing of the doll this time. :)

Here are some pictures from this afternoon's lesson:

This position is called a "Sugar Bowl" And here is a video clip
