Happy Birthday Anara

Madeleine and Audrey's good friend, Anara, turns 2 today. For those of you reading my blog for the first time today or for those who may have forgotten, Anara is precious little girl that my good friends Tim and Hilary adopted from Kyrgyzstan almost one year ago. You can catch up on her story here. Today is her first birthday spent with her family and friends. Desperate not to have 15 kids in her house, Hilary had the birthday party at a nearby park yesterday (we all do it; we loathe cleaning for a party). It was 95 degrees outside! While the parents melted and complained of sweat dripping in unmentionable places, the kids played and payed no attention to the temperature. Here are some of my favorite pictures (Steven took 160 pictures to be exact. Tim and Hilary's camera broke and I gave Steven the job of taking pictures for them and it was a job he took very seriously).

Look carefully. Audrey stole the gumdrop off of Anara's cupcake. Here I am pushing Audrey in the swing. She likes to go HIGH! :)

Happy Birthday Anara! :)

Wow, how interesting that I check your blog and there's a post about Anara - I've never met her or her parents, but I've prayed for them and last night I dreamed about Anara! It was actually a sad dream because Erika & Darin were trying to adopt her, but she was already "taken, so they had no baby at the end of my dream. Then I woke up and said, "Oh but they have Lucy - thank you God for Lucy!" It's so neat how God places children in our families according to his perfect will. Happy Birthday Anara!!

Thank you, Auntie Katie! I would've never made it home without you :)

Love,
