Happy Belated 4th of July

I hope you all had a happy and safe 4th of July. Every year my family comes to our house to celebrate the 4th. We live right next to a country club (note I did not say in the country club) & they have a beautiful display of fireworks every year. We also live on a family friendly street and they have a block party every 4th; we usually bring chairs to the front lawn and watch the neighbors shoot off illegal fireworks. :) This year, however, we were forced to change our plans a little bit. Our next door neighbor invited all of his biker buddies over to his house for a party. There were Harley's lined all along my street; it looked like Sturgis! Now, please don't misunderstand me, I have nothing against bikers. I think it might be fun to ride down the highway on a bike, however these particular group of men had potty mouths! We were in the backyard watching the girls swim and couldn't help but over hear some "F bombs" being dropped next door. It was literally one right after another forcing us to take our party indoors. My brave sister, Grace, was about to march over and ask them to clean up their language, but I suggested that I value her life more and persuaded her to stay put. We decided to take a walk and find a new location to watch the fireworks rather than from our front yard. We actually found a spot not too far from our house and it worked out for the better. We did not have any trees blocking our view and no Harley Hogs dropping "F bombs".

Now for some pictures. I took a picture of the dessert I made because I was proud of it. It is called Red White and Blueberry Trifle. If you are interested in having the recipe let me know and I will e-mail it to you. It was a BIG hit and relatively healthy. :)
The girls are posing in their somewhat festive t-shirts. That's what happens when you wait until the last minute to buy them. This is Steven's attempt to take pictures of the fireworks; not too shabby. Hmmm, Blogger decided to rotate the picture when I uploaded it. It was actually taken horizontally.
My little ladies loved the fireworks; especially Audrey. She kept saying "how beautiful!" Here they are enjoying the view while laying down.

Dontcha just love neighbors like that? I know I thouroughly enjoyed our drug dealing, child abusing, shifty behaving neighbors both times they rented next to us! I'm glad you stopped Grace...something tells me if they were speaking that way there was probably some "happy beverages" involved as well. Looks like you had a fun 4th and I WANT that recipe! Talk to ya tomorrow, I'll be in the neighborhood.
