Fun at the Zoo

We enjoyed a day at the Henry Doorly Zoo yesterday. The company Steven works for used to have a fancy and very formal Christmas party every year. A couple years ago they decided to delegate the money (that was once for the party) to the different departments throughout the company. Now it is up to each department how the money is to be used. Steven's department used the money for a family event at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. Not only was our admission paid for, but they paid for everyone to ride the train, carousel, see a 3D movie at the IMAX Theatre, and as if that wasn't enough they fed us lunch as well. We had a wonderful time. In fact, all day long Madeleine kept saying "This is like a dream". :)

Madeleine took this picture of Steven and IMy favorite part of the afternoon was seeing the 3D movie; The Wild Ocean. I had never seen a 3D movie before and it was awesome! It was the next best thing to snorkeling. I ducked a couple times thinking a dolphin was going to run into me. Madeleine kept reaching her hands out and grabbing at the fish. :) Here are the girls in their 3D glasses:

Madeleine's favorite part was the new butterfly exhibit. It was breath taking; much more impressive than the one we have here in Lincoln.

I hope all of you are enjoying your weekend. We are enjoying a little bit of time at our own home before we head back to my parent's where we are still housesitting. I would just like to go on record as saying that I no longer wish to own a dog (at least not a lab) like I once thought. My morning started off with me running around in the backyard barefoot and in my pajamas trying to shush Daisy. She cornered a squirrel in a tree and was barking at it like mad. In turn, all of the dogs on the street started to bark. Once I finally got her inside she raided the trash can. She is so naughty!!
