Grace is home

Grace arrived home safely from Kenya last night & to my surprise she brought home gifts. Each of the girls received a doll:

They are beautiful handmade dolls. Madeleine hasn't settled on a name for hers yet, and I took the liberty of naming Audrey's doll Kazuri which means "small and beautiful" in swahili. They love their dolls and are sleeping with them as we speak. :)

I got a beautiful necklace that was hand made by beautiful women (I saw pictures of some of them). Making necklaces like mine provides employment for women; some of them are single mothers. The necklaces are sold world wide and when you purchase one the proceeds are given to the workers so they may provide for their families.
Steven's gift is a picture of a lion handmade from banana leaves:
Gracie showed me pictures this afternoon and shared many stories with me. I think she came home changed. Just as she had an impact on the people she met, I think they had an even bigger impact on her. I won't say anymore because I want you to hear the story from her. She will update her blog soon ...

Thanks to all of you who prayed for my sister. Your prayers were answered. :)

What fun! This will have to hold me until Grace posts on her own blog.
