Enjoying the Weather

We have had record breaking rainfall keeping us indoors much of the time, but the weather was beautiful today so we took advantage by going to the zoo.

The girls are checking out a very active snake. Normally it is hiding under a rock, but today it showed off a little.

The obligatory turtle picture

Petting a rabbit.

Petting a hedge hog. She was taken a back by how prickly it was.

This butterfly was attracted to the colors of Audrey's dress.

She eventually caught it and was able to get a better look.

Look carefully. Madeleine is holding a moth in her left hand and has a butterfly catching a ride on her back.

I love the look on Madeleine's face. It epitomizes the way the girls feel about the gibbons. Shortly after this picture was taken the gibbon attacked the glass scaring Audrey & causing her to jump a foot off the ground. As a matter of fact, the same thing happened to her last year.

An albino peacock making itself at home.

Audrey hatching

Madeleine hatching
Come to think of it, those pictures represent my girls' personalities quite well. Audrey is JUMPING out of her egg, representing her boisterous and high strung personality while Madeleine is hatching slowly which could be compared to her laid back and timid personality.
