Memorial Day

I am looking back on what was a wonderful day. I enjoyed an amazing day at the park in the good company of my family. As I reflect, I am thankful for all the men and women who have served our country so that my family and I can enjoy the freedom we have come to enjoy and take for granted. People like my grandfathers (Grandpa Herb and Grandpa Gene) who served their country in the air force. I am so grateful for their service and sacrifice!

We had a picnic at our favorite park, but in a new found location that we had not explored until today. It was a little more secluded giving us some privacy and lots of room for the girls to run around.

Our poor children can't even eat their lunch without having their picture taken. That is a cold chicken nugget Audrey is eating from a lunchable. Doesn't it sound appetizing? She sure thought so.
A beautiful girl amongst beautiful scenery. The obligatory family shot
Bubbles!!!
Oh look at the bubbles!
My bubbles!
After we had our fill of bubbles we took a walk that lead us to a very mucky pond and the infamous pillars at Pioneers Park.
Work it, girl!
At the mucky pond we found quite possibly the largest fresh water turtle I have ever seen! This picture does not do it justice. It could have easily drug one of the girls in the water with it.
Look at how red their cheeks are. It was a very warm day, so we rounded it off with some ice cream from DQ.
Happy Memorial Day!
