Playing With Pictures on a Rainy Day

It's a rainy day here in Lincoln as it has been most days this Spring. However, I am not complaining, just bored. So, I caved and allowed Audrey to watch movies while I compiled pictures for this post. I love photography. I love viewing pictures just as much as I love taking them. I also enjoy editing them to bring out the colors because I love bold colors. So, on this dreary day I made it brighter by looking through and editing pictures from our two trips to the Children's Zoo this year. As of today there are only 2 weeks left in the school year so I am sure we will more than quadruple the amount of times we have been so far. There are a lot pictures, but I combined them into collages when I could to make for less scrolling.

Here is a small collection of the animals represented at the Children's zoo; my favorite being the cats. A couple things worth mentioning are, I almost busted my knee taking a picture of the albino peacock. I was so focused on the bird that I wasn't watching where I was going and walked into a table. Secondly, look closely at the last picture of the Eagle. Double click on the picture if you need. That is a mouse he is eating. Yup! I like Eagles and the part they play in rodent control.
The zoo looks beautiful this time of year as the trails are lined with flowers like these. Madeleine posing on the caterpillar at the entrance to the butterfly pavillion.

We got a little creative with these pictures (actually both were Steven's idea). That would be Steven acting like he is being attacked by a giant butterfly and the second one is supposed to look like Madeleine has butterfly wings. These pictures are possibly cheesy, but definitely fun.
A new addition to the zoo is this tepee.
Comparing their arm span to that of the eagle's wing span.
Checking out the view from an eagle's perspective.
Feeding Leo the Lion paper.
Every trip we make to the zoo, we take a picture of the girls in the eagle's nest.
Posing in front of a random purple tree because I love purple.
Playing in the sand.
Madeleine is doing the Vanna White, showing us a chameleon.
Aflac!
Posing at the end of a nature trail.

This is another new addition to the zoo, appropriately placed outside a monkey exhibit. Now, my children can become one with the monkeys.
Are your retinas bleeding from viewing all those pictures? Well, thanks for sticking it out and viewing something I really enjoy!

These are some great photos, Katie. I always love pics of the girls but the others are good too. I especially love the peony in the previous post and the flowers on this one.
