Adventures in Dog Sitting

We dog/cat/house sat for my parents while they were in Galveston for my cousin's wedding. I wish I could have been there too, but had to stay back since Madeleine is finishing up her last week of school. She has been taking end of the year assessments (and doing quite well I might add).

Have you ever spent any amount of time with a Labrador Retriever? They. are. into. everything. Even Daisy who is 10 years old will steal a bite of cat poop from the litter box, a tasty kleenex treat from the trash can, or eat an entire bird while you are not looking. This, I might add, is why you should always be keeping a watchful eye on the dog.

Even as much as she annoys me, I guess you could say that I love her even more. Here is a photo recap of our week with Daisy & Henry (the cat).

You never dine alone at my parent's house. There is always an animal . . .
. . . or two to keep you company.

I had the wise idea to bring Daisy to our house the first night. Seeing how Madeleine had school the next day it seemed easier to do that. We live around the block from her school, but had we spent the night at my parent's house we would have had to get up even earlier than normal to get her there on time. Even though Daisy behaved herself while in our home, the cats were less than amused.

Our other cat, Sunny, remained under a bed and did not make an appearance until the dog left. Since we didn't want to kill our cats of a heart attack, Audrey and I stayed with Daisy at my parent's house until Friday when Steven and Madeleine joined us there.

Even though the cats hate her, and Steven and I are occasionally annoyed by her, Madeleine and Audrey love Daisy unconditionally and I would have to say the feeling is mutual.

So, I guess that more than makes up for the things Daisy eats.
