The True Meaning of Christmas

This morning I volunteered at Madeleine's school just as I do every other Thursday morning. One of my tasks was to hang up artwork in the hallway outside her classroom and as I did I noticed something that made my heart swell. Hanging on the wall were mugs of hot chocolate cut out of paper that the children had colored. Then they wrote on the mugs what Winter means to them. Many children wrote things such as building snowmen, playing in the snow, drinking hot chocolate, etc. However, the first thing on Madeleine's list read "Jesus was born". I smiled and thought to myself, "she gets it, she really gets it"! Even though I sometimes lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas and may not always be the best role model, my daughter really gets it. I hope she never loses sight of what Christmas is all about and that she is always so bold in her faith.

I LOVE it! Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas! What a blessing when our children fully understand Jesus! :) Amy J.
