Dancing in the Parade!

As I write this, I am still thawing out from our excursion this morning. The girls danced outside in the pre-show for the Star City Parade. It was 20 degrees at 9:30 this morning when they danced in the streets of downtown Lincoln. It's a miracle that they were able to move because they were wearing 3 layers of clothing.

Here they are while they are still inside and warm
Here is Audrey with her friends (The 'A' gang) just before going outside
Madeleine posing with her best bud before heading out into the cold
Audrey's class on their way to the designated spot
Taking their positions
Posing for another quick picture
Audrey in action

Audrey was supposed to dance twice, but before it was time to take the stage again her mood had worn thin. I found her crying and shivering & made the executive decision that dancing once was plenty. I scooped her up and took her inside a nearby building to warm up.

Madeleine's turn. Her class getting into position
Still smiling & enjoying herself
Here she is pulling up her pants because if they are not halfway up her torso she thinks they are going to fall off. :)
Action shot
This picture breaks my heart. This was during her second performance. She was so cold, but was determined to finish the dance even though Steven motioned to her that it was okay to come with him.
Afterward Grammy & Papa treated us to a warm treat at Panera. While Audrey was eating her pumpkin muffie and sipping on hot chocolate she said with a big smile, "that was fun"! How quickly one forgets when distracted with a tasty treat.
