Our Week

I have been a blogging slacker. I have been wrapped up in the election, Audrey's birthday festivities, and my new found love of facebook. I always thought I was too old to join, but apparently I'm not. So, if you are on facebook I am now as well.

On Monday Madeleine returned to school after a week long fall break. I enjoyed having her home, but her return to school was welcomed. She loves being at school and it is so good for her seeing as how she is SO BUSY.

On Tuesday I voted and waited anxiously for the returns later in the evening. I am not going to share my political views, but whether or not you like our new president you have to admit that it was an amazing day in history and the fact that we are alive to witness it is a blessing. I am an emotional person and I cried as President-Elect Barack Obama made his speech after becoming the first black president of the United States. I would also like to encourage you to read a blog entry by Beth Moore, A United House. She managed to beautifully write what I have been thinking about lately; that we need to put political differences aside and support our new president.
(jumps off her soap box and continues to write about her week).

Steven had Wednesday and Thursday off. It was so nice to have him home during the days. On Wednesday we had lunch with Madeleine at school. We even got to play with her on the playground afterwards. We enjoyed watching her interact with her friends and we got a kick out of Audrey who was following the big kids around. :)

Today Audrey and I enjoyed brunch with some friends. She played with her little friends while I enjoyed coffee and adult conversation.

Madeleine got her 1st report card today - she received all meets and exceeds. We are so proud of you, Madeleine!

And this evening we are going to celebrate Aunt Natalie's 18th Birthday. Happy Birthday Natalie!!!

Now that you know the above, I am sure you can rest easier. :) I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

P.S. - I would also like to encourage you to read Seven Prayers A Day by Angie Smith on her Amazing Blog called Bring The Rain.
