Audrey Faith is 3 years old today! It is hard to believe that 3 years ago she was a tiny baby weighing 2 pounds, fighting to stay alive. Now she is a little girl with the same fighting spirit that kept her alive when she was born. She has brought laughter and joyful chaos to our family and to help us celebrate, her 3 best friends came over this morning for a princess party. All the little girls came dressed as princesses and Disney Princess music played softly in the background as they decorated tiaras. After completing the craft they had a royal lunch consisting of macaroni and hot dogs with cupcakes for desert.

During the princess party, Steven took Madeleine on a daddy-daughter date. They went out for lunch and shopping for Audrey. Along with some presents she picked out all by herself, Madeleine decided that Audrey needed flowers and picked out a bouquet of lavendar roses.
Later in the day the whole family (both sets of grandparents, her aunts, and uncle) came over to celebrate. I made dinner and Grammy made the birthday cake (that is Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs adorning the cake)

I had planned to sit down and write a beautifully poetic post about how marvelous Audrey's birthdays are to me and how thankful I am that God not only spared her life, but mine as well. I wanted to write about how the difficult journey I traveled to have Audrey is the same journey that brought me closer to God. That while pregnant with her, I did not know from one day to the next whether or not she would live; I had to learn how to have faith. I had to learn to lean on God and not on my own understanding. Audrey's miraculous birth and recovery gave me a new found passion and relationship with Jesus that I wanted to tell everyone what He did for my daughter and me. So, while this has not been poetic (I am far too tired to be moving) it is from my heart and I am so thankful for my sweet daughter. Happy Birthday, Audrey!!
