Random Stories

If you have checked my blog recently you would have noticed that the look of it changed several times. For some reason, I felt the need to spruce it up but didn't know exactly how to make it look the way I wanted. Anyway, I think I am satisfied for the time being. I get this way with my house also; I rearrange a couple times a year. :)

Madeleine returned to pre-school yesterday after a 2 week break. Although the break was nice, I have welcomed back the routine. Without routine my house tends to fall apart.

Nothing exciting has happened in my life lately so I will just update you on the girls. They are both healthy; yay! We had such a rough start to the winter season that I wish I could keep them in a protective bubble now that they are healthy again. With Nebraska winters come cold temps, ice, and snow. As you can imagine, my children tend to bounce off the walls when they aren't allowed to run off energy outside; especially Audrey. The older she gets, the more she resembles her new favorite cartoon character; Curious George! Let me share with you the trouble she has gotten into the past couple of days. Last week while Steven, Madeleine, and I were playing Go Fish (Audrey was too busy to play with us) we heard a thump followed by crying. We ran to the front of the house where we found she had taken the grate of the floor vent and fell in, she chased our cat under our wingback chair where she got stuck, and she still puts everything in her mouth which means she has to be watched like a hawk, oh and I almost forgot; she LOVES to color. That would not be a problem if she colored on paper. She is like Harold and the Purple Crayon. She has colored on our walls, her bed sheets, and Steven's personal favorite is when she colored on the TV and his subwoofer. :) My days are spent running one step behind her saying, "No, Audrey" or "give that to me Audrey" but I can't complain too much because it has proven to be a good work out for me. When buying new pants with my Christmas money I realized I have dropped one pant size! :)

Madeleine is doing well also. She received several games for Christmas so we have been having many family game nights. She has a long way to go in learning the lesson of "playing for fun". Basically if she doesn't win it is not fun for anybody. This is something we are working on. :) She also received a craft kit for Christmas. She made all of the enclosed crafts in two days. Here is a picture of her wearing the tiarra she made:

I hope this post finds everyone well!!

Today while Madeleine and I were playing a board game, which Audrey had no interest in, Audrey took the new remote and proceeded to royally mess up the TV with the touch of only one button. For the life of me I could not figure out what she had done or where Clifford the Big Red Dog had gone. When Steven got home he fixed it. By the way Madeleine won the first game we played and very politely said, "Grammy, I'll let you win the next one"
