It's Christmas Time

After a busy couple of weeks we were finally able to put up our Christmas tree last night. With Christmas songs playing in the background I watched as the girls sifted through ornaments and got tangled up in tinsel. My mind also wandered to two years ago when Audrey was still in the NICU. Watching her eyes light up at the sight of the tree and play with the ornaments filled my whole body with Joy.

This time of year always sends me into a tizzy as I drive all over town looking for the perfect Christmas gift, baking cookies, working a few more evenings at the bookstore, & doing my normal household chores. On Saturday God sent me a reminder to slow down. Lincoln had its first ice storm & everything I had planned for the day was cancelled. I had a moment to relax because I had no obligations. I hope all of you can find time to take a deep breath, relax, and remember the true meaning of Christmas. It is a time to remember the gift of God's son, Jesus Christ! :)

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests. Luke 2:14
