1. I was born in San Antonio, TX and never left the state until I moved to Nebraska at the age of 14 in 1993. I said that I would officially be a Nebraskan when I was 29 because that would mean I had lived in NE one year longer than I had lived in TX. With that being said I will officially be a Nebraskan on February 28th. :)
2. I wore braces for 5 years! Hopefully my girls will have teeth like Steven; they are perfectly straight without ever having to wear braces.
3. I played the violin for 8 (or 10, I can't remember) years. I was actually pretty decent, but it has been so long since I've played I don't think I could remember how. I also taught myself how to play the guitar in high school, but I forgot how to play that as well. :(
4. My favorite singer of all time is Amy Grant. Yes, I love Jeremy Camp and Mercy Me but Amy is my all time fav. I grew up lip syncing to "Baby Baby" in my bedroom. It used to be a dream of mine to be a singer, but I wasn't blessed with a set of pipes like my sisters.
5. I am afraid of the dark. I have memories of my dad brining a chair into my room as a child and quietly reading a book while waiting for me to fall asleep. Now I have Steven to watch over me as I sleep. :)
6. I have two daughters. Madeleine is 4 and Audrey is 2. Audrey was born 3 months premature and is living proof of God's awesome love and mercy. They keep me busy and although you cannot always tell by the expression on my face, I love every minute of it! :)
7. I LOVE animals and have a huge soft spot for them. Growing up in San Antonio, all but one of our pets was a stray that I begged to keep. Our first dog, Franny, was a mut that showed up on our door step as a puppy. I sat outside with her all day while she layed curled up in my lap. I pleaded with my parents to let me keep her and they said no. So, I stayed outside with her. When it started to get dark my parents coaxed me inside by saying that if she was still here in the morning we could keep her (they probably thought she would be long gone). When I woke up she was gone, so I faked an illness so I could stay home. Later in the day I snuck out of the house and went looking for her. I found her in an empty field down the street and brought her home! From that day on she was a beloved family pet until she passed away a few years ago.
8. Shortly after I graduated from high school I went on a mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico. I helped build a house for a family who did not have one. What I witnessed in that city is something I will never forget and I feel priveleged to have been able to go.
There you have it. I don't know how interesting that was, but now maybe you know something about me that you didn't know already. Now I am going to tag, Gracie (to inspire her to keep up with her blog), Natalie (same reason), Kelly and Erika. Have fun ladies!!
P.S. - I thought of one more interesting fact. My friend Hilary (who tagged me) & I went to high school together. Here is a picture of us the night of our senior prom (who she attended with her now husband, Tim).
