It is currently very cold with a layer of ice covering everything outside. Steven took Madeleine to school this morning so Audrey and I wouldn't have to trek out in the cold, allowing us to stay in our jammies. While Audrey lays curled up with her pillow pet and lovey watching Dinosaur Train, I have been looking through some of the pictures I have taken lately. On this cold and dreary day the only thing on my to do list is to make a grocery list and I am going to put that off as long as possible since meal planning is my least favorite thing to do. Thus, the reason for this blog post. It is a ploy to get out of what I really should be doing.
Our crafty first born made this cat in art class. She stuffed, sewed, and gave it life. It now resides with the mass of other stuffed animals living on her bed.
On Saturday I sat at the table taking her picture paparazzi style as she made a book.
The following picture shows how she felt about that.
Madeleine wrote several books over the weekend, complete with illustrations. In the following picture she is reading the story she wrote about the day we got our cat, Sunny. She did not leave out a single detail, which is impressive since we have had Sunny for 2 years.
I don't think Audrey was so much listening as she was posing for the camera.
And Nikki would like to know why Madeleine didn't write a book about her.
I love the following picture because it was taken after Audrey saw Steven give me a hug.
I looked up and there she was saying, "Awwwwwww, that is so sweet!"
Here is Audrey playing with playdoh. It is her second favorite thing to do in the whole wide world (the first being playing in her doll house).
I also happen to love the following picture because it shows how HAPPY Audrey was when it was taken.
On Tuesday evening I asked Steven if he could play with the girls while I folded laundry. A couple of minutes later I heard thumping and screaming. When I went to check things out the thumping was dancing and the screaming was actually screams of laughter. Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun was blaring through Madeleine's CD player while Steven and the girls jumped and danced around the room. That smile is the result of love for her daddy.
This is where my post will really live up to its title. From here on out it will become especially random.
I baked cookies all day yesterday to give away to the girls' teachers. I put them in these adorable treat boxes I found at Hobby Lobby.
Since I was a busy baker yesterday, Steven supervised showers. As I was packaging up cookies and cleaning up the kitchen, Madeleine came strolling in to tell me that she was Mary.
Monkey see monkey do.
All tucked in to bed. I brought the camera in her room because she had called for me saying that Nikki was laying on her tummy. I thought before I shooed the cat off of her I would take a picture, only to find out that the "Nikki" she was referring to was this stuffed cat.
Rub-a-dub-dub, why is there a cat in my tub?
And with that, I will conclude my random post.
