A Cookie Extravaganza

On Saturday we spent the afternoon at my parent's house baking and decorating cookies.  There were 10 of us squished around the table rolling, cutting, and sprinkling every type of cookie imaginable.  It was loud, crowded, and a ton of fun.  Dare I say, it was a cookie extravaganza!

Madeleine and Audrey made buckeyes.

After rolling a mixture of peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar into balls, they were dipped into chocolate.

Here is what they look like when they are done.  They taste like a peanut butter cup, only better.

When they were done making buckeyes, Madeleine and Audrey rolled, cut out, and decorated sugar cookies.

Madeleine meticulously decorated her cookies and they all turned out beautifully.

At one point I looked up and she was playing in the flour as if it were a sandbox.

After all of that hard work, the payoff was getting to eat one (or 2 . . . or 3) of the cookies.

A great time was had by all and we will be eating Christmas cookies well into the new year.
