Thanksgiving

This evening I am feeling full.  Full of turkey and all the fixins, but also full of contentment.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with so many reasons to be thankful.

This year we had Thanksgiving dinner at my parent's house.

Gracie made formed pre-made dough by my mom, into rolls.

Natalie made a pecan pie with a little help from my dad.  My mom said it best when she said, "sometimes you just have to step away from the kitchen and let the pie crust fall where it may".

Although she had some help, it was my mom who ultimately pulled Thanksgiving dinner together.

Madeleine waited patiently to partake of the scrumptious food that awaited her.

Audrey requested to sit by Aunt Natalie.  She loves her so much!

Biting into a delectable cherry.  Gingerale with maraschino cherries is a must have during the holidays.

My Thanksgiving wine.

Madeleine helped Grammy make one of my favorite Thanksgiving deserts (second only to pumpkin pie) pumpkin crisp.

Mixing it up really well . . .

Not to be left out, Audrey got in on the fun.

The end result was very tasty.  My girls did not disappoint!

Since the whole family was together, I got the bright idea to take a family picture for my parent's to use in a Christmas card.  Since we used our new camera, it took many tries to find a setting where the whole family was in focus.  Here are some of the out takes:

While Natalie experimented with different settings, my dad got a little impatient.

One of the many faces of Steve

Dad got tired and disappeared for awhile . . .

then popped his head out to see if it was time to take a picture for real this time (and Steven is showing off his other side).

After many takes and a few tears, we finally settled on this one.

Madeleine had the same smile in every. single. picture.  She was the one who shed tears and I begged and pleaded with her to please please smile.  So she did (albeit reluctantly).

So, yes we had a nice Thanksgiving.  Now bring on the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping, Christmas decorations, hot chocolate, & sugar cookies.  I love this time of year!
