On Saturday afternoon we decorated our Christmas tree and our children.
I am not sure how much longer we will get away with draping tinsel over them, but we will milk it for as long as possible.
We gave the girls sole responsibility of putting ornaments on the tree. I sorted through them and handed each girl the ornaments they have acquired over the years, allowing them to find perfect spots for each one. Steven adjusted the balance when needed.
I gave Madeleine and Audrey these personalized ornaments last year. They are some of my favorites.
This year was Madeleine's turn to put the angel on top of the tree.
When Steven and I were first married, we resorted to decorating our tree with gold, shiny balls because we did not have any ornaments of our own. We started the tradition of giving each other an ornament as a gift every Christmas and we have continued the tradition with our girls. This year I admired all of the beautiful ornaments we have accumulated over the years.
Steven gave me this ornament the Christmas I was pregnant with Madeleine & it is probably my favorite ornament of all.
Over the years our family grew from 3 snowmen to . . . 4 bears.
