Beating the Heat

Our city has been under an excessive heat warning  for the past several days.  With a heat index of 115 degrees every day we have been forced to stay inside.  While Audrey is perfectly content staying home every day so she can play dress up or play in her doll house, I cannot say the same of Madeleine.  She loves to play outside and go places.  Yesterday we stayed home all day.  While I appreciated checking things off of my to-do list, Madeleine did not.  She boldly proclaimed, "I feel trapped in this house"!  Today I took her words into consideration and took the girls to Lost in Fun.  While I did have to pay admission, it was worth it because the girls were able to play on play structures just like they would at a park, but in the air conditioning.  Better yet was the fact that the admission we paid was good all day and we went back with daddy after dinner.  Madeleine kept telling Steven, "Prepare to be amazed"!

This bounce house/slide was a HUGE hit as well.  Notice that Madeleine is air born.  To make for a more enjoyable experience, they jumped up before sliding.

Lost in Fun was a huge blessing for my restless girls today.  It was also a fun way to start bringing summer to a close since the first day of school is one week away.Where has the summer gone??
