Madeleine lost her first tooth last night. Shortly after tucking her into bed for the night she came out saying that she was ready for her tooth to come out because it was bothering her. So, I wiggled it to see how loose it was and pushed on it a little to see if that caused her pain. All the while my squeamish husband was online looking up directions on how to pull a loose tooth. After a lot of unsuccessful wiggling, I used a paper towel and swiftly plucked that tooth out. There was no pain involved, just a very happy little girl. :)
After swishing her mouth out with salt water, she gently placed her tooth in my old "tooth fairy pillow" that my mom made for me when I was her age. She placed it on her bed in a spot that would be visible for the tooth fairy and this morning she woke up to find that her tooth was replaced by a crisp dollar bill. :)
