Today Madeleine is 6 years old. As she turns another year older my mind is filled with memories of years past that keep playing over and over again like a slide show. 6 years ago she was a beautiful, tiny baby who depended on me for everything. Now she is a very independent little girl. When I was pregnant with her I was afraid of the kind of mother I would be; would I be impatient, would I let my temper get the better of me, would I make a mistake? Well, I have done all these things but she loves me anyway and tells me that I am the best mom in the world. So, I just want to wish her a VERY HAPPY birthday and let her know that she is loved very much!

All Madeleine asked for this birthday was to have her ears pierced so we obliged. After all, she is the same age I was when I got my ears pierced. So, one of her best friends (Olivia) came along for moral support since she already has her ears pierced. I think I was more nervous than Madeleine; she did GREAT. She did not even shed a tear.
This picture was taken immediately afterward. You can barely see it, but there is a sparkly pink flower earring on that ear. :)
After she got her ears pierced, we went to her favorite restaurant for lunch(Las Margaritas) where she chowed down on a burrito, rice, and beans.
Later that evening family came over for dinner, cake, and ice cream. My mom baked a chocolate cake that Aunt Gracie decorated. That is Barbie as the Island Princess. Madeleine LOVED it! :)
Madeleine would not stand directly in front of the cake to blow out her candles because she was terrified of the fire.
