To My Friends

"A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need". Proverbs 17:17

This afternoon I invited two of my dearest friends (Amy and Hilary) and their children over for lunch and to play. It was a sort of Last Hoorah if you will before school starts tomorrow. The kids enjoyed playing & running around the house while the moms had some much needed fellowship over coffee. I have been dreading the start of school and worrying about the"what ifs". Mostly, it is just a BIG step for me to put my trust in someone I don't know to care for my child 7 hours a day, not to mention how much I will miss her. But, for the 4 hours while my friends were here I was able to put my worries aside (and actually forget about them) & just simply enjoyed being in such wonderful company. However, I will NEVER forget how the play date ended. We all sat in a big circle in my living room, while my friend Amy prayed. She prayed for Hilary and I as we take this big step tomorrow (Hilary has a son entering first grade and a son entering kindergarten) and for the safety of our children. The children actually sat still for the prayer and the most touching part was that Amy was moved to tears. I don't want to embarrass her, but that meant the world to me. God has blessed me with amazing friends and I felt moved to express my gratitude here on my blog.

Tomorrow after I drop Madeleine off I will be headed to Hilary's house for "coffee and tears". :)
