When Madeleine dislocated her knee 6 weeks ago the prognosis was disappointing. At the time the orthopedic specialist said she would not be able to participate in dance until at least October. Madeleine was devastated by the news because she had been eagerly awaiting her first day of Jazz all summer (read about it in her own words
here). The thought of having to sit on the sidelines until October was
insufferable. However, God is good and Madeleine is strong. She healed quickly and without complications, allowing her to participate in dance several weeks sooner than we anticipated. Yesterday was her first day and her best friend was just as excited as she was.
Madeleine was so elated to be dancing again that she wanted everyone to be there to watch. Daddy, Audrey, and Grammy were all there to see her in her Jazz debut.

Madeleine carefully observed Abby's every move since this is Abby's second year of Jazz and Madeleine's first.
Madeleine wasn't the only one who was delighted. I was just as excited to see her dancing again and relieved that the worry that once crippled me, melted away. The fear that she will re-injure her knee has been replaced with confidence. Confidence in my little girl who is stronger than I give her credit for and confidence in a God who is bigger than my fear.
