Daydreaming of Spring

Lately I keep daydreaming about spring; what it will feel like the first day the temperature is 60 degrees. The day I can take my girls to the park and I can resume my evening walks. I imagine myself frolicking in flowers like theseand swimming in warm water like this. However, my reality is actually thisSo, that picture is a slight exaggeration because there are no polar bears in Nebraska. However, I am quite sure they would feel right at home now with a high temperature of 2 and a windchill of -35. Yes, that would be 35 degrees below zero. Just when I thought I could not take one more day of snow and gloom, God gifted me with the sun today. Oh, how I love the sun! Just seeing the sun gives me hope of days like this in the not so far off futureBy the way, I have no idea who those people are. All I know is that they are frolicking in a meadow; something I would pay money to do right now.

Now, back to reality. Madeleine is off from school for the second day in a row since the public school system canceled classes due to the snow and extremely dangerous wind chills. Unfortunately, her break hasn't exactly been fun seeing how she was struck with the stomach flu yesterday. She seems in much better spirits today and was able to keep down a bowl of rice.

She spent the better part of yesterday like this
That would be her best cat friend, Sunny, watching over her. Her guardian kitty if you will.

Not to be left out, our other cat Nikki joined the party as well.
However, Madeleine woke up & asked me to remove Nikki shortly after taking this picture. You see, Nikki is a tad overweight and was crushing Madeleine's toes.

Katie- I loved all your pics! Maybe that was you & me running through the meadow! :) Anyhow, Addie just said, "Mommy! That is so nice those cats lying on the bed! How cute!" Thought you would like that! Amy J.
