I don't know how it happened, but summer is over. Today Madeleine started first grade. She was extremely excited to return to school and as a mom that is very comforting.

Through that sweet grin you can see that her front tooth is very loose and hanging on by a thread. Unfortunately she is very squeemish and won't let us pull it.
Even though they are not in the same class, Madeleine was able to meet up with her best friend before the first bell rang.
They have the same great taste as you can see by their matching backpacks.

Being that it was the first day of school with a new teacher and routine I was very anxious to know how the day went. So you can imagine how tickled I was when she walked out of the school doors with a huge grin on her face. I think it is safe to say that her first day of first grade was a success!
