Memorial Day Weekend

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! We enjoyed some much needed family time over the past couple of days. We had no where we needed to be this weekend so we flew by the seat of our pants and had a great time. On Saturday the girls ran through a sprinkler in the back yard.

I love this picture; it makes me laugh

On Sunday we took the girls downtown to the Haymarket. The Haymarket is a historic part of downtown Lincoln, but specifically that is where Lincoln Station is and a fabulous icecream shop called Ivanna Cone. Those were the two places we visited.
Posing for some pictures on the back of a railroad car
Here are the girls devouring their ice cream from Ivanna Cone. This ice cream shop makes all of their ice cream by hand and the atmosphere is quaint. Eating this ice cream reminds me of the homemade icecream my grandpa used to make when I was a young girl. The following 2 pictures were taken in an old building downtown.
Yesterday we packed a picnic lunch and went to Pioneers Park. The weather was perfect; not too hot and there was no wind (almost unheard of in Nebraska).

The girls were able to explore
Madeleine took this picture of Steven and I
The following are all of the animals we saw on our excursion

A mama goose with her babies
Elk
A Turtle
A Bumble Bee
A Bald Eagle

Buffalo
And finally, a butterfly shaped flower garden that I think is very pretty. :)
I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing weekend as well!
