Several weeks ago my mom bought each of the girls a pumpkin. I put them outside in an attempt to make our house look festive. Madeleine showed some concern when I put the pumpkins outside, but I assured her they would be safe. Imagine her disappointment when she saw her pumpkin yesterday:

Notice the yellow flower in the above picture. That would be a pumpkin plant. If you think having a pumpkin plant growing right outside our door is odd, I'd agree. However, I didn't plant it. That is a result of the squirrels eating our pumpkins last year. The seeds fell into the soil and the rest is history. If only squirrels could read . . .
