Belated Mother's Day Post

I hope all of the moms who read this blog had a wonderful Mother's Day. My morning started off with the presentation of gifts. I received 2 cards; one from Steven and one from the girls which Madeleine signed and Audrey colored in. In the card from Steve was a giftcard to Starbucks (a much appreciated gift). Steven also had a photo book made for me containing beautiful pictures of the girls. Here is a picture of the gift Madeleine made for me in her pre-school class:
After that we pulled ourselves together and had breakfast at Panera before going to church. The church service was spectacular. The Children of the World International Children's Choir came to our church and sang. They were amazing. It was bittersweet because as I watched them sing and play instruments I thought about where they came from & their difficult circumstances. Some of them were orphaned by Aids. Others lost their parents due to tribal wars while others had living parents who were unable to care for them. What I found to be so humbling was that they were smiling and speaking of Jesus who loves them very much. They are saved and know that this world we are living in is only our temporary home. These little children have endured more in their short life than most of us ever will. As I watched and listened I also immediately understood why Gracie has a passion for the country of Africa and why she is going there next month. After the service I got to meet the children and give them a hug; it was life changing.

After church we went to the Children's Zoo where the mom's got free icecream and we all got to ride the train for free. This was a big deal for my girls! Since the train rides were free the line to get on was very long. Audrey had a meltdown when the train left the station without us. Thankfully we were able to get on board the second time around.

It is so hard to get a good picture where everyone is looking in the same direction.
After the zoo we visited with Steven's family and my family. My mom said it was the best Mother's Day she has had in a long time because all three of her girls were home! Here is a picture Steven took of us that I framed for my mama:

And just in case you didn't know how goofy we get when we are together, here is a picture to prove it:
Look carefully. We spelled MOM with our bodies! :) I put the picture in mom's Mother's Day card. I love my sisters! They make my life fun!
