After picking our paint colors we set to work.
Madeleine was very meticulous while Audrey was more laid back in her approach.
Audrey started off well, painting each element of the cupcake a different color (usually her technique includes mixing paint colors). However, it wasn't long before she started using the approach I have become accustomed to. After the red paint on the cherry atop the cupcake dried, she painted over it with brown declaring, "it is a chocolate covered cherry"!
Here is Madeleine with her brilliantly painted Seahorse
and Audrey with her cupcake.
And here is my creation!
Painting designs freehand with a paintbrush is harder than it looks and my sad little flowers are proof to that effect. We left our pieces there where they will be clear glazed and fired in a kiln. They will look amazing when they are completely done making up for my lack of skill.
After painting ourselves silly we went next door to Ivanna Cone for some homemade ice cream. In my opinion they have THE best ice cream.
This picture pefectly depicts Audrey's mood at the ice cream shop.
While we were placing our orders, she was jumping around like a frog on a hot tin roof and whacked her head on the counter. Instead of just saying"OW" and letting me kiss it better, she got embarrassed and withdrew. She refused to try the sample of ice cream she was given or even tell us what type of ice cream she wanted. Eventually my mom chose a flavor for her which ultimately lead to more problems because it wasn't what she wanted.
All a day in the life. She eventually snapped out of her foul mood, but not before her ice cream melted.
