Valentine's Day

I love Valentines Day and not just because it is a good reason to have a night out with my hubby.  I love watching the girls sort through their valentines; reading the sweet things their friends have written.  I enjoy seeing the effort put into some of the cards, often times by a very creative mom.  Watching their eyes light up and their mouths water at the sight of the candy takes me back to a time when life was whimsical and carefree . . .
Sorting through her loot after her Valentine Party at preschool.

Later that same day at Madeleine's school waiting for the 2nd graders to return from recess so the Valentine's Party could begin.

My BINGO game was a big hit!  Thanks to everyone who answered my plea for ideas on facebook.

Ready to play!

After school I told the girls they could play outside if they would cooperate with me long enough to take a few pictures (I find if I bribe them our photo sessions go much more smoothly and the pictures turn out better).  :)
Sisters at heart.  They are wearing the necklaces we got them for Valentine's Day.

Their new Sisters necklaces.  Madeleine's is purple and Audrey's is pink.

Now back to the pictures from our photo shoot . . .

Later in the evening when Steven got home from work, he had a surprise for his girls.

For dinner we ate a heart shaped pizza by candle light.

We  rounded out the evening by working on Valentine crossword puzzles as a family.

Valentine's Day is for celebrating the ones we love and I think we did just that.  :)
