A Temporary Reprieve From Winter

I am currently enjoying some time alone at Scooters Coffee House.  I just finished a Snicker's Latte that I got free with the purchase of a pastry (I chose a cinnamon roll).  The whirring sound of a latte machine and  the music of B107.3 playing overhead has replaced the sounds of the girls running around the house.  While listening to the girls run around and play can be heartwarming in its own right, today this is what I craved.  Just me, some coffee, my computer, and some pictures to sort through and edit.

We have enjoyed a week long break from winter.  All of the snow has melted revealing the grass underneath.  Even my daffodils have started to poke through the ground.  Around here the weather can change in an instant, so we have been taking advantage of the sunshine as much as possible.  Yesterday we spent a couple hours at the park.

Madeleine and Audrey swung . . .

Her preferred way of swinging is airplane style.  (Sorry . . . this one is out of focus).

slid . . .

ran . . .
Playing freeze tag.

played hide and seek . . .

This slightly out of focus picture reveals Audrey cheating.

were silly.

They were also kind enough to stand still long enough to get some some non-action shots.

She had just thrown leaves on Steven's head and was laughing about it.

My girls aren't the only ones enjoying the glorious sunshine.  I captured the following pictures of my cats basking in the sunlight after enjoying a can of Fancy Feast.

The following picture is my favorite.  It cracks me up when Nikki does this because she is so fat big boned.

When her belly is exposed like that, you can't help but ruffle it up.

Doesn't Nikki look a little ticked off? I think she was peeved that we bothered her while she was sun bathing.

I know the weather this week has been a temporary reprieve, but I am hoping its positive effects on my mood will last until Spring firmly plants its roots.
