A Stroll in the Garden & Zoo

Sunday was another beautiful day so we spent the majority of it outside.  Our first stop was the Sunken Garden for our 2nd annual photo shoot, last year being our first  (if you'd like, you can click here to reminisce).  We had so much fun that we decided to make it a Labor Day weekend tradition.

The girls' favorite part of the garden is the Koi pond.  They like to sit and watch the fish.



 

She is quite adventurous and I was afraid she might fall in.

Madeleine requested that Steven take a picture of these lily pads so she can eventually put it in her photo album.

After exploring the garden we ate a picnic lunch in the van before heading to the zoo.

Madeleine caught several butterflies.  It is her favorite exhibit at the zoo and she has become pretty quick at catching them.

Because a zoo post wouldn't be complete without some animal pictures.

I got a kick out of how the meerkat (bottom right) fell asleep.
