Some Sliding and Duck Watching

Another favorite spot of ours to spend time when the weather is beautiful  is at Holmes Lake.  We went there on two different occasions this past weekend.  There is a park as well as a beautiful, shimmering lake surrounded by a trail.  As much as I complain about Lincoln sometimes, it really has a lot of beautiful parks and trails.  So, maybe what I am saying is that I really shouldn't complain about Lincoln anymore.

Audrey coming down the twirly slide.

Madeleine stopped briefly, on her way up the play structure, to smile for me.  I do love her smile.

Steven was also fascinated by the beauty of the flowers that are growing out of the lake.  You may recall that I took a picture of them for my project 365 post.  However, as you can see, Steven's picture is better.  He captured the diamond-like glistens on the lake as well.

The girls did a little duck watching.

This one was diving down for food.  I thought he had a cute tooshie (as far as duck tooshies go).

Madeleine asked if she could pet a duck.  I told her if one came close enough, she could pet its head with one finger.  From that point on, she had her finger pointed and ready for the next duck who came near.  Unfortunately for her one never did (but that did not stop her from trying).

The third girl in this picture shared her bread with my girls so they could feed the ducks.  Never mind that there was a sign saying not to.  I just didn't have the heart to stop them since it was such a sweet gesture on behalf of that little girl; Madeleine and Audrey loved it!

Madeleine stalking the ducks again in a desperate attempt to pet one.

Audrey got tired of walking so she hitched a ride with Steve providing me with the following sweet photo opps.

My next set of photos will be from our second annual photo shoot at the Sunken Gardens.
