In the midst of my stress, I take comfort in spending time with my family. This Fall we have been blessed to be able to visit two nearby pumpkin patches at virtually no cost to us. Visiting any pumpkin patch is literally the highlight of my year (I must be easy to please). I love the fall colors, the smell of glazed nuts and bonfires, and the general warm and cozy feeling one gets while taking a hay rack ride. It doesn't get much better than taking a hay rack ride to a field of pumpkins to pick the perfect one for carving.
In this picture Steven is holding our perfect pumpkin & the girls are saying "hay" in the goofy way in which I have taught them to say it.
An old corn stalk makes a perfect walking stick
So, in this particular season of my life while my life is not going in the precise way I dreamed it to go, I am choosing to take pleasure in the simple things like finding the perfect pumpkin. Here are some more pictures from our day at a Pumpkin Patch (this time we went to Roca Berry Farms).
This is a 40 ft. slide
Here are the girls after going down that huge slide

We took a picture of Madeleine in front of this horse booty because we were feeling reminiscent.
5 years ago we took her picture in front of the same horse booty. :)
What you can't see in these pictures is a sign stating that if the tail is blowing ____ (insert direction) the weather will be _____(windy, rainy, etc). So, the horse booty does have a purpose other than a lovely back drop for a picture.

Here is Baby Madeleine in front of the same flowers as above 5 years ago.
I have no before and after pictures of Audrey because this was her first time visiting this particular pumpkin patch.

Look how tall my girls are
