Snow Day!

Winter has officially arrived in Nebraska. This week the highs have been single digits and yesterday we received our first winter storm. It started with freezing rain, lightning, and thunder; in the middle of the night the rain turned to snow. Madeleine's Christmas break started a day early since the school district canceled school today. As much as I despise the snow, I know that the girls LOVE it so I bundled them up and took them outside. They were able to run off some built up energy and I even got in on the fun and sledded myself. :)

The girls were sledding on a hill that starts on our neighbor's driveway and ends in our lawn. That is our neighbor's house in the background.

We wish Steven could have had a snow day also because the only thing that could have made our afternoon in the snow more fun would be having him there. However, we are looking forward to having him home for 2 weeks beginning tomorrow. :) Have a great weekend!
