Tea Party

I love my dad. He wanted to get me something for my birthday that I could use with my girls. He decided that a tea set would be just the thing since I have girlie girls who love to pretend and do whatever mommy does. He looked and looked and couldn't find the right tea set so he picked out the following espresso set:
Since I had to work at the bookstore the evening of my birthday, he delivered the espresso set to me at work. It was very sweet seeing him stand there with a cute box tied up in a bow & knowing how much thought he put into the gift meant the world to me.

I showed the set to Madeleine the next day and ever since she has been begging me to have a tea party. Today we finally had one. I made decaffenatied tea and filled each of our cups up with it. I also added plenty of milk and sugar. I also served cookies. Needless to say Audrey LOVED it! Since she reguarly sneaks sips of my coffee when I am not paying attention I figured that would be the case. Madeleine did not particularly care for it, though. That also did not surprise me because she happens to be a picky eater. Next time we will have to be creative and serve something other than tea.

I hate decaf tea! No wonder Madeleine didn't like it. I never gave you decaf tea when you were little. Only the real thing. Let's try it again. A true southerner loves sweet tea, hot or cold. I've loved it since I was little.
