A Glimpse of Spring

Yesterday we had a taste of spring; the high was 65! We did not waste one minute of it. I had to work during the day at the bookstore and while I did Steven took the girls to Pioneers Park where they walked on the Nature Trail. Both girls walked without help for a total of 2.5 hours!

You would think that would wear them out, but when I got home at 4:00 they were ready to go outside again. This time we drove to Holmes Lake where we walked the trail that surrounds the lake. Let me rephrase that; Steven and I walked, the girls ran! We let them run to their hearts content since they have been cooped up for days. It was very comical watching them run, especially Audrey. She ran as fast as her short little legs would go and every once in awhile she would stop and just start bawling. She was holding on to her side so Steven and I assumed she was getting side cramps from running so hard. We thought it would be best to give her break and carry her for awhile. WRONG! She wanted no such thing; she just wanted to run. I couldn't help but think of Forrest Gump; "Run Forrest, Run"!

We encountered this cute little puppy on our walk. As Audrey is petting it I asked the owner, "what kind of dog is she?" and he replied "a pitbull". YIKES. At that point we said bye to the nice puppy.

Run Audrey Run!

This is what happened as a result of offering to help Audrey. :)
After we were done at the park my mom called and invited us over for Chinese takeout (YUM!) and a movie. We watched Ratatouille for the first time. When it was over I asked Madeleine, "did you like Ratatouille?" and she replied "no, I don't like Rat Movies". Maybe if one of the rats had been dressed up like a princess she would have liked it.

P.S. - Our glimpse of spring is over. Today it is 39 degrees and we are in a winter weather advisory. I am glad we were able to get outside and enjoy it yesterday.

It was a great day yesterday and a fun evening. I am not looking forward to more snow. What should I expect though? It is the week of Boy's State Basketball. That always brings us bad weather. Oh well, here's hoping for a snow day!
