4th of July

Now that the Colorado posts are behind me I can get caught up on life after vacation.  We enjoyed a quiet 4th of July at home, just the four of us.  We set up the pool, walked down the street to buy fireworks (a whopping $4 worth) and Steven grilled burgers.  The finale of the evening was the fireworks display done at the Country Club.

The back ground for the following pictures is my thriving little flower garden.  I started with a small one this year & now that I have more confidence I will try a bigger one next year.

Steven, the master griller.

We had a picnic and all squeezed around the girls' little tykes table.

After dinner it was time for some long awaited pool time.  It wasn't exactly pool weather with temperatures in the 70's, but the girls were unshaken.

After becoming adequately pruny they got out for fireworks.  I often rave about Steven's photography, but this time it was I who got the good shot (in my humble opinion).

Madeleine wouldn't stand still long enough so she is blurry.

At 50% off, several of our fireworks were duds.  However, that didn't prevent the girls from enjoying them.

Besides, we leave the big ones for the pros.  They never cease to captivate us.
