Madeleine's Last Day of School (Holy Cow She's Going to be in Third Grade!)

Today was Madeleine's last day of second grade, but it didn't feel like it.  Not only did this year fly by, but I don't think it made it out of the 50's today.  It literally did not feel like it could possibly be the last day of school.

When Madeleine entered 2nd grade she looked like this,

but today as she leaves 2nd grade she looks like this.

If you ask me, I think she has aged a little too much.  I might be biased, but I think in a few years we are going to have to keep the boys away with a stick.  She is a stunning young lady, inside and out.  Even though the weather was less than desirable today, the 2nd graders had a picnic.

Here she is with a couple of her friends:

Among other things, they played with water balloons.

Ideally water balloons are supposed to cool you off on a warm day.  Instead, they made the kids colder on a cool day.  However, that does not mean they complained.  In fact, it was quite the contrary.  They loved it in spite of the chilly temperatures!

These two are going to have a fun-filled summer of play dates and sleepovers.  Here's hoping they are in the same class again next year!

Here is Madeleine with her "favorite teacher in the whole wide world", Mrs. F.

As we conclude this school year, I look forward to what the next one will bring.  I will have a Third grader, a Kindergartner, and God willing a job as well.  There are changes on our horizon, but for now I am looking forward to a summer filled with swimming, crafting, playing at the park, play dates, and a vacation to Colorado.  Three cheers for Summer!

I agree that Madeleine has a) grown up SO much this year and b) that she is a stunning young lady... because she has been raised by some amazing, incredibly loving parents. As for those boys - GOOD LUCK! :)
