Not Your Typical Day at the Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday afternoon we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch.  Ironically we went on the exact same day we did last year, only there was a stark difference; the TEMPERATURE.  Last year it actually felt like Fall with temperatures in the 50's (and an early snow fall the following day to boot).  However, on Saturday, our trip to the pumpkin patch was hot.  82 degrees to be exact.  Not really the crisp, cool air that I prefer when we take a hay rack ride to choose pumpkins.

The temperature may not have felt like Autumn, but the colors were unmistakably so.  These pumpkins are so orange that the light reflecting off of them makes Audrey's hair look orange.

In case you did not already know, pictures taken in the Fall are my favorite and I love these!

Peeking out of the cupcake on the life size Candy Land game.

My little flower

I really wanted a cute picture of both of my little flowers, but this was the best I could do

And this one is a doozy!

I guess the sun was shining directly in their eyes.  One of their favorite attractions was this 40 ft. slide.

Here they are exiting it after plummeting down 40 ft. at warped speeds.

Climbing on some hay bales because quite frankly a trip to a pumpkin farm would not be complete without doing so.

These are some beautiful mums that I thought were worthy of a photograph.

Snow White with my little dwarves.

My jail bird.  I told you she was ornery!

Madeleine lead us through a corn maze.

Then we went on a hay rack ride in search of some pumpkins.

Madeleine enjoyed looking at the fairytale themed attractions on the way to the pumpkin patch (such as The Three Billy Goats Gruff complete with real goats). . .

. . . while Audrey liked snuggling up to Steven.

Finally, the girls each picked out what they believed to be the perfect pumpkin.  Notice how rosy their cheeks are.

This is yet another picture I had high hopes for, but it just wasn't happening.

When we returned home, Madeleine promptly got out some markers to decorate the mini pumpkin she picked out earlier in the day.

So creative!

So, the weather may not have been ideal for a day at the pumpkin patch, but I won't complain too much because it won't be much longer before I am begging for 82 degrees again!

Katie,
You have been living in the mid-west way too long. A nice 82 degree day IS fall weather down here. Oh to have 82 all summer long!!!!!!!! :)

Too bad the weather didn't cooperate. There should be frost on pumpkins. You can't really tell from the pics that it was so warm - except I guess that the girls' cheeks are a little flushed.
