Larryboy

The local Christian bookstore I work for (Lemstone) celebrated their 3rd anniversary this weekend. In honor of the event, Larryboy (the super hero from Veggie Tales) came to greet customers. Some children as old as elementary aged were terrified of the super hero cucumber, while tiny children, like my fearless Audrey, loved him.

She went up to him and shook his hand and poked his belly. Yes, I did say poked his belly. It was squishy and bounced back when she poked it. Unfortunately, Madeleine was intimidated by the large cucumber. Her head is the one you see lingering in the background.

Today was the first day Madeleine has seen the outside world since Thursday. She woke up early Friday morning (1:30 to be exact) throwing up & did so every hour until 7:00. Since she was rudely awakened to the act of throwing up she associated sleeping with throwing up. She forced herself to stay awake by laying on her stomach with her head in her hands. When I told her it was okay to lay her head down and go to sleep she said, "mommy, I am not brave enough". We had a movie marathon that day and had lots of Sprite (or spit as Madeleine calls it). Yesterday she was feeling much better and was able to eat soup and crackers. As of today she is 100% back to herself, but is still working the "sick factor" for all it's worth. Thankfully no one else in the family has shown signs of getting the bug; it is just too bad Madeleine had to be the one to get it instead of Steven or I. Except for the throwing up part, I think Madeleine enjoyed all of the extra attention, Spit (I mean, Sprite) and movies. :)

"Have you seen my hairbrush?!" So, glad Madeleine is feeling better, and even more thankful that the rest of you didn't get it :P
