Summer is in full swing and I have been busy trying to navigate the delicate balance between having nothing to do and busyness. It's not always easy since I have one daughter who is more than content to stay home and build castles in the air, so to speak, while the other is prone to boredom (those of you who know my kids well know exactly which girl falls into what category). While I think I've done a pretty good job, my oldest is sure to remind me of the "boring days" we've had before I allow myself to get a big head. Speak of the devil, Madeleine just came in here and asked, "Are we going to get out of the house today"? Some people just have no appreciation for the term
lazy days of summer. Anyway, here are some of the ways we have occupied ourselves this summer.
| Feeding a family of geese at Pioneers Park. |
| Decorating the driveway with chalk. |
| On Father's Day we went to the Sunken Gardens. |
| Audrey has been learning how to ride a bike. However, practicing every day has been put on the back burner now that we are in the middle of a heat wave. |
| Playing in a homemade tent. |
| Having an "out of this world" time at the Children's Museum. |
| Grammy took us to see Brave. |
| We tried to beat the heat at a spray park with friends. |
| Swimming at Star City Shores. |
| On June 9 Steven and I celebrated 11 years of marriage. That's 11 years, 2 children, 2 cats, some busyness with a side of boredom, a splash of adventure, and a lot of love. We are living the life. |
